FAQs

Q?

What are the most important things to consider about my fence installation?

A.

puppyatgateBe sure to check with your city, county and/or community to acquire all the necessary permits for construction of your fencing system. Be sure that the desired location of fence lines does not exceed property lines. We recommend that all posts be set approximately 4" inside your property lines. Before digging post holes, watch for and check out any underground cable or pipe lines. It's advised that you contact your local utility companies.

Q?

How can I design my fence project myself?

A.

Draw a diagram of the job layout and count the number of corner posts, end posts that you will need. Establish the fence line using the string and stakes allowing 2 1/2 inches from the string line to the center of the post. Using the 100 ft. tape and the spray paint mark an "X" where each post hole will be drilled. Call us for more detailed information!

Q?

Can my wooden fence be stained or sealed?

A.

You can have your fence stained and sealed! In fact, we recommend it for longer life and a better appearance. We recommend you stain your fence after it is installed rather than dipping the wood prior to installation. It is better to let the wood dry for 2-3 weeks and then have the fence treated. This provides for better adhesion and more uniformity in color and appearance.
